Four live measurements
Air temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and light are read every 2.5 seconds.
3RD PLACE · ROBOTICS THE DA VINCI CIRCUIT 2026
Smart Greenhouse v2 — a greenhouse that looks after its plant by itself. Designed by Chitraksh, with hands-on building, design input, and software contributions from Robin Singh, for The Da Vinci Circuit 2026.
Open-source firmware, apps, schematic, wiring card, and documentation.

Every 2.5 seconds the ESP32-S3 reads the greenhouse, calculates a health score from 0 to 100%, and decides whether the plant needs water, more airflow, or grow light.
Air temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and light are read every 2.5 seconds.
The controller applies the selected plant profile and produces a clear 0–100% health score.
A servo-operated pump switch, two PWM fans, and an RGB grow light respond automatically.
Live data and controls stay available locally and on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android.
Each plant comes with its own growing ranges, watering style, and animated character. The character smiles when conditions are healthy, sweats in heat, shivers in cold, and droops when the plant needs help.

The controller combines the selected plant profile with repeated sensor readings. It does not react to a single noisy value, and every automatic action has a safety limit.
The soil must read dry three times in a row. Water is delivered in short pulses with soak time, a minimum gap, and a daily limit.
Intake and exhaust PWM fans increase smoothly as heat and humidity rise instead of jumping abruptly between off and full speed.
An RGB LED strip switches on automatically when the light sensor detects that the greenhouse has become too dark.
The touchscreen gives direct access to live readings, manual controls, plant selection, and soil calibration. Bluetooth apps extend the same system to Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android.

The apps connect directly over Bluetooth. They need no Wi-Fi, user account, online service, or subscription.

Instead of connecting the pump to the controller's power system, a servo physically presses the pump's own switch. The pump keeps its separate power supply while the greenhouse still controls watering automatically.
Reads the sensors, runs the care rules, drives the interface, and provides Bluetooth connectivity.

Separate intake and exhaust airflow that ramps smoothly with heat and humidity.
Switches on automatically when the greenhouse becomes too dark.
The servo physically presses the pump's own switch, keeping pump power separate from the electronics.
